A 3-Step Real Estate Mobile Marketing Strategy, Inspired by My Dentist

June 18 2012

This article comes to us from the REALTOR.com Lockbox blog. In addition to their recommendations for mobile applications, QR codes, and CRMs, we suggest you learn more about your options in our product directory.

A couple weeks ago, I had my routine 6 month dental check-up. The experience was fairly standard; scraping, flossing, and a little talk about fluoride. About 45 minutes later, I was out of the chair and on my way, cavity-free and proud to be.

A few hours later, as I was walking my dog, I got a text message.

From my dentist.

It grabbed my attention: a text message from my dentist. A dentist using mobile marketing to stay in touch with me.

Now, instead of elephants on notecards trumpeting about my next appointment, I would be reminded via text, on my iPhone.

Dr. McIlveen gets it.

She understands how people today want to do things. She understands that people today want to do things with their mobile devices.

For me, my iPhone’s indispensable – I do everything from email, to Facebook, to web browsing on it. And like millions of other people just like me, I also search for homes on it.

The mobile revolution in Real Estate

Maybe revolution is the wrong term to use. Mobile is already here, and it’s here to stay.

NAR’s most recent survey of home buyers and sellers tells us that 40% of consumers actually PURCHASED a home they found online – that’s a number to take serious note of.

More and more consumers use mobile devices to access the web everyday, and it won’t be long before mobile traffic to the internet eclipses traffic delivered by wired devices.

Today, it isn’t just smart for agents to have a strong mobile marketing strategy, it’s almost a necessity.

But if you don’t have one, don’t panic.

Below, you’ll find 3 ways to get yourself a solid mobile marketing strategy, in only a few short minutes.
