We have been running a series for MLSs; we call it "Follow the Leader." Today, we thought we'd share one of these articles with our broker readers. Enjoy!
Our focus for the "Follow the Leader" column has been on creativity, innovation, and inspiration. It's difficult to imagine anyone who could better embody those concepts than Austin Allison, CEO of DotLoop. He accomplished something that is nearly impossible for most tech entrepreneurs – he said "no" to scope creep and feature creep, creating a product that has been beautifully streamlined for easy agent and broker adoption.
Saying "No" to Scope Creep
"In a way," says Victor Lund, CEO of RE Technology, "Austin reminds me of Steve Jobs at Apple. The reason: he has created a product that is not underdeveloped or overdeveloped. This is difficult for a leader, as they are so personally invested in their products – they have a hard time stopping, even when they've hit the 'sweet spot' of usability and functionality. Austin is a leader because he understands this balance."
