Are you struggling with agent adoption across one or more of your systems?

November 17 2013

checklistA common concern we see with many brokerages is getting agents to adopt new technologies. We've got a tip for you: Create digestible strategies for agents by building a scorecard or report card.

Here's how:

  1. Break down your technology systems into each category. For example: CRM, Video Platform, Listing Presentation, CMA tool, etc.
  2. Take each one and ask yourself: What does it look like with basic usage? Intermediate usage? Advanced?
  3. Create a scorecard.

Here's an example:

Technology Resource: Customer Relationship Management

Basic Adoption:

  • Are contacts loaded in the system?
  • Is the agent assigning contacts to campaigns or using automation for this?
  • Is the agent assigning tasks and reminders?
  • Does the agent have social media integrated?

Intermediate Adoption:

  • Is the agent's contact list categorized for advanced marketing?
  • If your CRM tracks closings, are your agents using this feature?
  • Does your CRM integrate with your email? Is this agent set up?

Advanced Adoption:

  • Daily Use of the System
  • Agent customization of data, fields, email campaigns, etc. (assuming your CRM can do this).

These are just example areas. You can break it down and color code these for each system you are implementing. It will serve as a great adoption report card and give you ample material for training on your tech systems.

Consider awarding agents with an incentive or technology badge each time they move through the adoption stages.

Managers can also be graded on where their offices are in the overall picture. New agents can be trained properly with this document—a roadmap to success.
