RPR Unveils New Learning Menu
RPR, an exclusive REALTOR® benefit and the nation's largest property database, just got stronger and easier to use. A new Learning Menu, which resides within the navigation, went live in early April. RPR users will now be able to access learning videos, articles, FAQs and more, while they're accessing deep real estate data, running property reports, and prepping to "wow" their clients. Although RPR is quite intuitive and user-friendly, the new Learning Menu will really come in handy when users need a little hint or nudge to help them complete a task on the website. This self-directed knowledge source is offered via a pull-down menu, described below. Click of the Cap Here's how the new RPR Learning Menu works: from the top of each home page, there is an icon that looks like a graduation cap. Clicking on the cap icon will unveil content that directly relates to where the user is navigating. Although there are many learning resources within every area of the site, not necessarily every page will have learning content. When learning content is available, the graduation cap will be white. If there is no learning content on a particular page, the graduation cap will be greyed out. Grabbing Your Attention The screenshot below shows the Learning Menu expanded on the Property Details page. From the example, you can see that the user has clicked the graduation cap icon to reveal the Learning Menu for this section. From here, watch a video tutorial on pricing a property, read relevant articles, and click directly to additional training and learning aids, such as how-to's and webinars. Additional content, along with varied learning levels (basic to advanced) will be added over time. As a reminder, you can also visit the Training section of our blog to view our on-demand video tutorials, e-books, and recorded webinars. Next time you're on the RPR website, be sure to check out the new Learning Menu and all the content that is available to you. It can save you time, elevate your knowledge of the platform, and make your RPR user experience even more productive. To view the original article, visit the RPR blog.

RPR Announces Retirement of CEO, Appointment of New Leader
CHICAGO (April 12, 2018) — Realtors Property Resource® LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Association of Realtors®, announced that its founding CEO Dale Ross will be retiring as of May 1, 2018. RPR's Jeff Young has been named chief operating officer/general manager and will assume responsibility for all RPR activities, reporting directly to NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. "I would like to express my appreciation to Dale Ross for his achievements as CEO. During the last eight years Dale has built an incredible and highly skilled team. Under Dale's leadership, RPR has not only fulfilled its original mission to create a high-value member benefit for NAR's 1.3 million members, but has led RPR to be one of the premier real estate databases in the industry," said NAR CEO Bob Goldberg. "On behalf of NAR's leadership team and membership, we would like to thank him for his service and dedication." Ross began his tenure with RPR in 2008 as the chairman of the original advisory council, which was formed to create a proof of concept for RPR as part of NAR's second century initiatives. In 2009, Ross led the formation of RPR, followed by the launch of its national database in 2010. Since that time, RPR has expanded its parcel-centric database to include over 95 percent of the active listing data in the U.S. The RPR web- and mobile-based applications are an exclusive member benefit to NAR's 1.3 million Realtors®. Young joined NAR in 2008, as vice president with the Realtors® Information Network, to oversee the creation and implementation of RPR's original proof-of-concept model. In 2009, he joined the newly formed RPR, LLC as senior vice president. Young was promoted to COO in 2015 where his responsibilities were expanded to oversee all non-development components of RPR's national delivery, including RPR's broker, commercial, association and multiple listing service programs, training, customer support, marketing, budget and administrative systems. In his expanded role as general manager, Young will focus on creating a more dynamic culture and increased synergies across RPR, as well as more closely aligning RPR's mission with NAR's strategic plans for 2018 and beyond, while creating further cost efficiencies throughout the organization. "This is a very positive direction for RPR and represents my expectation that RPR focus on optimizing its structure, allowing it to see increased efficiencies, while meeting its budgetary targets, as part of NAR's overall organizational realignment," said Goldberg. The National Association of Realtors® is America's largest trade association, representing 1.3 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

BuildersUpdate.com Selected as Exclusive New Construction Data Supplier to Realtors Property Resource®
AUSTIN, Texas--BuildersUpdate.com has reached an exclusive agreement with Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®) to provide RPR with new home construction data for REALTORS® to access nationwide. "RPR is very excited about this new partnership," said RPR CEO Dale Ross. "Our goal is to provide REALTORS® with the latest in high value property information to assist their clients and customers at all levels of the real estate transaction. By adding new home construction data through Builders Update, agents will have access to an important resource in today's rapidly changing market, while being protected in the sales process." According to Bill Gaul, CEO of Builders Update, new home data availability for agents is often spotty and difficult to acquire. The agreement will initially make about 100,000 new home listings available to agents through RPR. "We are pleased that we have worked out an agreement with RPR®, a system that is both technically advanced and highly regarded in the country as the 'go-to' resource for licensed agents," said Gaul. "I was immediately impressed after receiving a presentation about RPR® capabilities and functionality, however, a depth of new home construction data was missing." Bob Seeman, VP of Business Development for Builders Update, added, "Agents want to sell homes, brokers want to make money, and once agents realize how easy it is to use this data provided to RPR in their presentations, they will increase their earnings potential. Agents will now have 24/7 access to thousands of new home listings and builders will be able to make their homes available to hundreds of thousands licensed Realtors® working with pre-qualified buyers who would consider a new home." Builders typically spend a great deal of money and time trying to woo consumers directly, but in fact, according to NAR, 64% of new home construction is sold with the help of a REALTOR®. "The reality," said Gaul, "is that reaching agents using a tool like this is far more cost-effective for a builder because the agents are ready with a pre-qualified client. CoreLogic Introduces Property Tax Estimator
March 01, 2017, Irvine, Calif. – CoreLogic®, a leading global property information, analytics and data-enabled solutions provider, today announced the availability of Property Tax Estimator, an automated solution designed to improve the accuracy of loan estimates (LEs) in the origination process, and to provide better data to underwriters and servicers. The solution is particularly effective in estimating taxes for new construction loans and in areas of the country that have caps on annual increases for existing homeowners, and where the taxes can increase dramatically after a sale or transfer of ownership. Property Tax Estimator is designed to significantly increase the accuracy of LEs, reducing compliance risk and improving the customer experience. By delivering highly accurate tax data early in the process, Property Tax Estimator also helps underwriters qualify the borrower's ability to financially support all mortgage costs, and improves the onboarding process for servicers. Additionally, it eliminates the need for any specialized skills required for data procurement and provides a consistent workflow process no matter the property, exemption status, county exception complexity, and loan officer tenure. Today, underwriters and processors are spending time offline contacting local counties to determine tax estimates, calculations that can be streamlined to two minutes or less by Property Tax Estimator. "The tax estimating process is critical to several stages of the mortgage cycle: disclosures, underwriting and servicing. Accurate tax estimates help deliver the right blend of quality, performance and efficiency required for optimizing the borrower experience while minimizing compliance risk," said Kirk Randlett, vice president, Tax Service Operations at CoreLogic. "Property Tax Estimator brings the full value of CoreLogic data capabilities in an Electronic Data Interchange solution that can be integrated with a lender's system." See What's New at RPR: May 2016
Searching made simpler with added features and filters 1. We've taken last month's new keyword search and expanded it to include neighborhoods, address zones and address areas (MLS area), exterior styles, water features, and listing and MLS subtypes—all through listing data and listing descriptions (not public records). The new options are available for both Residential and Commercial applications. Tip: Did your search yield a limited number of listings? Try adding more keywords to expand your results. 2. Your clients will appreciate your pinpoint precision when searching for homes by drive time now that the function includes the ability to filter by day of the week, time of day, and length of journey. You can also choose to view walking times. Tip: Consider integrating walk time data with RPR's Points of Interest (POI) to add appeal for those seeking a walkable community. Non-disclosure states take note when sharing reports via Facebook REALTORS® who practice within the country's 12 non-disclosure states will now be prompted to take care when sharing reports on Facebook. The message will appear just after clicking the Post option but will not prevent a user from sharing the report. Non-disclosure states include: Alaska, Alabama, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, Wyoming Before You Go... Quit claim deeds are now considered a sale if the exchange value is more than a dollar. However, if a deed is transferred into a trust, it is no longer considered part of a sale. Heat and flood zones maps are refreshed. Note: Heat maps are updated quarterly, except for housing density and estimated value per square footage which are updated yearly. See What’s New: February 2016 RPR Enhancements
2016 is off to a great start for RPR users. In January alone, RPR squashed 37 of the 55 highest priority bugs we were tracking, and all thanks to input we received from our valued REALTORS®. During this time, we also managed to introduce some other useful improvements. Let’s take a closer look… WEBSITE ENHANCEMENTS Keyword Search Now when searching or filtering search results within RPR, use the keywords field to enter up to six words or phrases. This field searches through the description field associated with each property.   As an example: Let’s say Agent A enters a listing into her MLS with this description, “Beautiful new kitchen with granite countertops” in the property description. Then, using RPR, Agent B searches using the keyword “granite.” The property entered by Agent A would appear. Give this helpful new tool a try by searching for filters such as “ranch,” “waterfront” or “corner lot.” Neighborhood Search Boundaries RPR mapping now includes Macro, Intermediate, Minor and Micro neighborhood boundaries for areas that range in radius from miles down to a less than a quarter mile. The zoom level of your map will determine which boundaries show up in the drop down. Zoom in to view smaller layers such as Minor and Micro.  Just like other neighborhood search functionality, all options may not be available in all areas. Neighborhood Reports may not always be available for the layer chosen and will default to a Census Block Group as the smallest data set available.    MOBILE ENHANCEMENTS Additional Datasets RPR’s mobile app now offers Legal Descriptions, Plat Maps and Room Dimensions.    Photos – Pinch and Zoom Get a better look at property details with new pinch-and-zoom capability on the RPR app.    Stay tuned, here is a sneak peek at what’s to come: Integration with zipForm Keyword search for Mobile Google Street View in Commercial New property investment analysis tool Full annual refresh of demographic and retail data To view the original post, visit the RPR blog.

Cut the Clutter: Unlock Your Potential With RPR Mobile™
Staying ahead of the (technology) curve is one of the keys to being a power agent. And, with mobile tech being widely accepted these days, finding the right app that will actually simplify your life and help build your business is proving to be increasingly challenging. Enter Realtors Property Resource® (RPR®). With the recent launch of RPR Mobile™, agents are able to cut through the clutter of mobile technology with an app that was designed specifically for them—all at no cost to NAR members. Different than most real estate mobile applications, RPR Mobile was built by the REALTOR®, for the REALTOR®. RPR is their back-office tool that allows the agent to have the tools necessary to educate consumers directly—on the spot when property questions arise. Along with being able to pull property data on the fly, REALTORS® are able to work RPR into practically every part of your business while on the go. Sean Moore, a REALTOR® in Columbia, MO, explained that he uses many different lead generation services to help identify prospects. "We all know you have to respond to leads quickly. With RPR Mobile, I can easily generate and send the RVM® (Realtor Valuation Model®) via a branded, thorough, analytical report," explains Moore. "The worst email you can send is one stating, 'I'll get back to you.' Moore said that he would pull over to the side of the road, fire off a report in a minute, and check it off the to-do list. RPR Mobile gives the power to be able to stay on top of these opportunities, back to the agent. After all, opportunities are like windows, they can open and close before you even know one is open, and be gone in with a blink of an eye. Kevin Tomlinson, a REALTOR® in Miami Beach, FL, appreciates the efficiency of RPR Mobile. No longer does he have to wait and go back to the office to answer clients' questions or even look up a property. With RPR Mobile, Tomlinson has access to all the data and reporting he needs right from his phone, wherever he is. Nicole Nicolay, REALTOR® from Pleasanton, CA says that she uses RPR Mobile to immediately start communicating with prospective buyers. "RPR Mobile is one of my go-to resources when I'm meeting people at open houses. It gives me a way to easily collect someone's info when talking to them and then email them or text them a report from the app. RPR gives me a tool and resource to help educate my clients. I can showcase my knowledge of the area, and back it up with a great tool and resource; I don't have to sell myself." What's your story? "Our entire team at TRIBUS was very excited to implement this free offering for brokers. We're pleased to start rolling it out to them over the coming weeks to help them better compete with the syndication sites." First launched on Prudential Texas Properties website, RPR makes it easy for home buyers to see the estimated value for a home and zip code as well as the change that has taken place over the last month and year. "It's great to have fresh, live data available for our clients and agents to use at the drop of a hat," says DD Flynn, VP of Marketing at Prudential Texas Properties. "RPR is the housing market in real-time, a true game changer for the industry." RPR offers AVM, or automated valuation model, which combines comparable real estate data, sales history, available property appraisal information and localized economic factors that affect the housing market. "RPR developed the RPR Broker AVM in response to a request from members of NAR's Large Residential Firms RES Advisory Group," RPR CEO Dale Ross says. "As a dues funded REALTOR® member benefit, RPR was created to provide advanced technology solutions to agents and brokers in order to help them be more efficient in serving clients and customers. RPR is pleased to see Prudential Texas Properties utilize this dynamic, new feature of the RPR Platform."

What's New in RPR version 1.25?
Version 1.25 of the Realtors Property Resource® website focuses on enhancements to multiple areas of the application. A summary of the most prominent enhancements is below. If you would like more help finding or using anything in RPR, please visit http://blog.narrpr.com/training/. International REALTOR® members can now create accounts in RPR. Sale Pending flags now appear as a darker blue than the Active Listing flags on maps and in reports. And Sale Pending flags for distressed properties are now maroon, distinguishing them from the red Distressed flags. Notifications you receive when generating your reports have been enhanced, providing more information about the status and numbers of reports you have requested. (More enhancements are coming in the next release too.) There is no longer a cap on the number of comps a user can display in the Seller's Report. The Homeowner Facts detail section can be turned off, preventing information about a property owner from appearing in reports. User-entered changes to facts about a commercial property now display in the Commercial Property Report. Additional details have been added to the Interior Details section of the Property Details page where available: above-ground square feet, below-ground square feet, finished square feet and unfinished square feet. Larger photos of the user-selected comparable properties are now available within the Comp Analysis workflow, and you can scroll through multiple photos of a property when they are available. You can select a map point to initiate the "best business" analysis in Commercial. Map layer performance is improved, reducing the chance that a tile for a heat map or other map information will be incomplete in your reports. You can now filter active listings and pending sales out of your All Properties searches for distressed properties. Coming soon RPR is preparing a dashboard for Associations and MLSs. You will hear more about this feature, designed for Association and MLS staff to help serve their members, when it begins beta testing in September. The Sales Comparison Analysis feature, which is designed for REALTOR® Appraisers and has been in beta testing, will be made available to all RPR users in September. The Sales Comparison Analysis is a simple and powerful way to evaluate a property using area sales information, as well as competitive listings, and produce a detailed record that can be saved or printed. For more detail and support, please review the articles in the RPR Knowledge Base or contact the Help Desk at 877-977-7576.
