Realtors See Strong International Activity, Organize Global Real Estate Conference
WASHINGTON (August 7, 2018) — Realtors®, members of the National Association of Realtors®, will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam to join experts in the real estate industry from all over the world to learn, share, connect and transact during the 2018 International Real Estate Conference. Now in its fourth year, IREC will take place at the National Convention Center in Hanoi from September 6-7, with an expo extending from September 8-10. The annual real estate conference brings together top experts to discuss the industry's most pressing trends and is an opportunity for international attendees to make connections with real estate professionals in one of the world's most dynamic regions. "Nearly a quarter of Realtors® reported that they worked with an international client in the last year, even as low inventory and higher home prices continue to affect the U.S. market. Demand from overseas remains strong; foreign buyers purchased a total of $121.0 billion of residential property last year and at a more expensive price than domestic buyers did, a comparison of $292,200 for a foreign median home price and $249,300 for domestic," said NAR President Elizabeth Mendenhall, a sixth-generation Realtor® from Columbia, Missouri and CEO of RE/MAX Boone Realty. This year's event draws upon the success of past events in the Philippines, South Korea and Thailand and includes high-level speakers such as the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam and a representative from the Vietnamese Prime Minister's office. "Realtors® understand better than anyone that the U.S. real estate market continues to be seen as a safe, secure and profitable place to invest in property. IREC brings together NAR partner associations from all over the world to discuss cross-border opportunities and the many benefits of investing in the U.S. real estate market," Mendenhall said. The conference kicks off with the NAR Global Leadership Summit, an invitation-only meeting where leaders from NAR's bilateral partners will convene to discuss hot topics and trends influencing the industry worldwide. Conference sessions, which are open to all registered attendees, will cover current industry topics such as artificial intelligence; big data, and data analytics; block chain; building construction and design trends; smart cities; global real estate market trends from each region; and more. Over 1,000 conference attendees are expected, and 60,000 are expected to visit the conference exhibit hall. The host for IREC 2018 is the Vietnam National Real Estate Association; NAR is supporting the conference as a strategic partner. The Sky's the Limit as Realtors Gather in Chicago
CHICAGO (November 2, 2017) – The National Association of Realtors® kicks off its annual conference in Chicago today with a focus on education and opportunity. More than 20,000 Realtors® and guests from around the world are expected to attend the 2017 REALTORS® Conference & Expo, which runs through November 6 at McCormick Place convention center. Chicago hosted NAR's first ever annual conference in 1908, and this year marks the first time since 2001 that Realtors® will convene in the city for the meetings. The conference, themed "The Sky's The Limit," will feature more than 300 speakers at 100-plus conference sessions on a broad range of real estate issues, including brokerage management, innovation and business technology, affordability issues from inventory constraints, commercial markets, international real estate transactions, and tax reform's potential impact on real estate. "The conference provides a great opportunity to learn from and connect with other Realtors®, industry leaders and vendors from around the globe and to seek out information to better serve clients and grow their businesses," said NAR President William E. Brown, a Realtor® from Alamo, California and founder of Investment Properties. "Realtors ® will also be preparing themselves for the next industry opportunities and challenges, especially as Congress looks to tackle tax reform; while Realtors® support tax reform, it cannot happen by hiking taxes on millions of homeowners." During the week, conference attendees will hear from industry and political thought leaders, including Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, who will share the latest outlook for residential and commercial real estate markets; National Association of Home Builders Chief Economist Robert Dietz, Federal Housing Finance Agency Senior Economist William Doerner, U.C. Berkeley Hass Real Estate Group Chair Ken Rosen, MSNBC political analyst Steve Schmidt, and JLL Chief Economist Ryan Severino. On Wednesday and Thursday, conference attendees will roll up their sleeves to lend a hand to Habitat for Humanity Chicago. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with colleagues from 60 countries around the world and attend 15-minute presentations from country representatives and other experts about doing business across borders at the Global Real Estate Pavilion in the expo hall. The expo opens Friday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. and will feature more than 400 industry-leading companies showcasing the latest products and services from real estate software to home protection and warranties. The conference will also include several celebrity guest appearances. On Saturday, Nov. 5, attendees will have the chance to meet 23-time Olympic Gold medalist Michael Phelps at the NAR booth in the trade expo and later that evening hear from him at the conference's general session. Rock legend John Fogerty, leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival, will perform at a special attendee concert on Sunday, Nov. 5. Washington, November 09, 2009- The National Association of Realtors® has acquired technology to create a database of all properties in the U.S. so Realtors® can better assist consumers in a high-tech, fast-paced business world. The technology acquisition includes licensed data and secured data aggregation services from LPS Real Estate Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lender Processing Services Inc. (NYSE:LPS), a leader in real estate technology. NAR will use the assets to develop the Realtors® Property ResourceTM, a parcel-centric information database covering all of the more than 147 million property parcels in the country as a resource for NAR members. NAR is planning to launch RPRTM in the second quarter 2010. “Realtors® are the first, best source for real estate information, and the RPR™ is another emphatic feature to that resource. RPR™ will give Realtors® nationwide data on all properties at their fingertips so they can respond quickly to consumers interested in residential and commercial real estate. This is exciting news and a terrific NAR member benefit. NAR is committed to keep Realtors® central to the transaction and to the buying and selling experience with their clients and customers,” said NAR President Charles McMillan, broker with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Dallas-Fort Worth.
