Matterport Enhances Immersive 3D Media Platform with Betas for Google Street View Publishing and Faster Space Capture
Google Street View Publishing and Faster Space Capture Increase ROI for Matterport Customers Across Multiple Industries SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 10, 2018 -- Matterport, an immersive 3D media technology company, today announced open betas for publishing to Google Street View and new camera firmware enabling faster space capture. These two significant initiatives are expected to create more business opportunities for Matterport's thousands of customers across numerous industries, including restaurants, retail, travel and hospitality, real estate, and architecture, construction and engineering. Google Street View Publishing With Matterport's rollout of Google Street View publishing capabilities, Matterport users will be able to quickly create and publish a Google Street View experience from any Matterport 3D Space with the click of a button. Matterport 3D Spaces can now be exported to show up on Google Maps, Google Earth, and the mobile Street View application as fully linked panoramic photo tours, driving additional traffic to businesses' websites. Clients get the best of both worlds, leveraging the highly immersive Matterport 3D experience of a company's space on their website and publishing a 360 tour on Street View. "Google Street View publishing and faster space capture are two of the many initiatives that greatly increase the value of Matterport for camera operators, as well as businesses that want to use Google to drive people to their websites," said Bill Brown, Matterport CEO. "Matterport is the solution of choice for all types of businesses because our automation makes it easy for anyone to quickly capture a space and get a high-quality 3D environment. Now this content can be experienced as a Matterport immersive 3D environment on a business' website and can also be used to published as a Google Street View experience on Google Maps, Google Earth, or mobile Street View." Publishing a Google Street View experience from a Matterport 3D Space only takes a few minutes and enables Matterport Service Providers to expand their services by providing superior walkthroughs for clients and prospective customers. Google Street View photographers can rely on Matterport for a faster and easier publishing process. Since creation of a 3D space is automated, there is no need to manually stitch 360 panoramas, place and orient each of them on a map, and manually link the tours together. Photographers now only need a Matterport camera to get the job done, as opposed to using 360 and DSLR cameras, which often require additional equipment and software. Faster Space Capture to Increase ROI for Camera Owners In addition to expanding its distribution capabilities, Matterport has dramatically shortened the already brief onsite time it takes to capture a Matterport 3D Space, increasing the ROI for customers by reducing the labor cost for content creation. This latest camera firmware update speeds up the camera rotation, enabling customers to scan spaces in a fraction of the time. The speed increase comes from a free firmware update, requires no additional equipment, and will work for all Pro2 and Pro Matterport cameras. The quality of 2D imagery and 3D data will remain unchanged. Check out this video to see just how much faster the Matterport camera can scan. As the only automated all-in-one solution, Matterport empowers users to generate cutting-edge 3D experiences, high-resolution 2D photography, and a wide range of other shareable assets that can be used to differentiate businesses in the market and improve customer experiences. Matterport Partners with Google to Help Businesses Better Market Online
SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 9, 2017 -- Immersive media technology company Matterport today announced a partnership with Google to enable the publication of immersive Matterport content to Google Street View. Starting this summer, owners of Matterport Spaces will be able to directly publish to Google Street View with the click of a button through the newly-launched Street View Publish API. The 3D scans will appear and be accessible almost instantaneously on Google Maps and in Google Search results, driving additional traffic to businesses' websites. "Matterport is excited to partner with Google to enhance the way business owners market to customers around the world," said Bill Brown, CEO of Matterport. "Our all-in-one solution helps businesses promote their venues and provide a preview of what customers can expect. Because the Matterport solution uses 3D data to automate the capture and content creation process, our customers are able to very easily produce a superior consumer experience on Google Street View and the web. This will help drive online consumer engagement and generate site visits for businesses." Matterport's large and growing customer base spans a range of industries from residential and commercial real estate to hotels, restaurants, multifamily, vacation rentals, and scenic points of interest. With each capture, venue owners can get 2D photos, 3D and virtual reality (VR) models, video, and other digital media assets. What further sets Matterport apart is that it is the most immersive customer experience available on the web and in Google Street View, in terms of consistency, image quality, and 3D transitions. "Street View is a beloved brand because it helps prospective travelers/guests/customers gain the confidence of being there – before they go. In our quest to help people remotely navigate places, a sense of immersion has been key, so we're always keeping tabs on companies that take immersion to the next level. Matterport offers one of the most impressively realistic consumer experiences I've seen," said Charles Armstrong, Street View product manager. "Bringing the Matterport experience to Google Street View will be a game changer for businesses looking to better market themselves, and for the photographers who serve them." "Since Matterport is completely automated, photographers and service providers like myself can publish direct to Google Street View instead of stitching together disparate 360 photos and linking constellations," said Chris Petracco, President of TrustedPhoto DC, a Google Street View trusted contributor and Matterport Service Partner. "That, combined with Matterport's ability to deliver realistic captures in a variety of formats, means I can give my customers more assets in less time. All of this translates into better value and faster turnaround for the venue owner, less time on site to do the scan, and ultimately lower costs for me to deliver my service. This can be a real advantage for venues, both large and small, as well as service providers." Google Street View supports 2.5D transitions using just the sort of geometry that Matterport generates. By connecting Google Street View to Matterport's publishing service, a best-in-class authoring service and best-in-class discovery platform have come together to provide the definitive business virtual tour pairing. Starting this summer, customers will be able to access the new Publish to Google Street View capability through Matterport's beta program. Venue owners can get a Matterport scan today, via a service provider, and publish it to Google Street View once the publish capability is live. Interested customers can sign up for Matterport's beta program, and will be contacted when the beta program is available. Founded in 2011, Matterport has revolutionized the way businesses in real estate, hospitality, travel, entertainment, construction, and other sectors generate revenue. Matterport's easy-to-use device captures immersive 3D tours, virtual reality experiences, Google Street View inside view tours, 3D and 2D floor plans, guided tours and more. The all-in-one technology requires little to no training and a 2,000 square foot space can be captured in an hour. To date, over 500,000 spaces have been captured, generating more than 150 million "visits" across 80 countries. Since VR was offered for all models in Q4 2016, Matterport has seen VR usage explode, clocking over 3 million pano views. To view more Matterport Spaces, please visit the Matterport Gallery. CoreLogic Reaches Milestone with Expanded National Parcel Boundary Coverage
IRVINE, California, March 3, 2016 – CoreLogic®, a leading global property information, analytics and data-enabled services provider, today announced that its proprietary property parcel database, has been expanded to cover more than 144 million parcel boundaries and unique parcel point locations. ParcelPoint®, which includes patented technology, is the largest and most comprehensive parcel database in the U.S., covering 97 percent of parcels and all land-use types in 2,775 counties. The enhanced parcel database consists of national standardized spatial data on 140.3 million parcel boundaries with an additional 4.5 million unique parcel "centroid" locations that provide the geographic location, physical address, ownership information and detailed characteristics of an individual property. While both parcel boundaries and parcel points contain highly accurate positional location information, parcel boundaries provide more complete information about the entire expanse of a parcel rather than just a single "point" location. The extensive coverage of the broader parcel boundary data from CoreLogic is unique because it provides more comprehensive property information. Data is sourced from public records in various formats and quality checked for geometric errors, positional accuracy and attribution. The parcels are standardized for consistency and accuracy to create uniform information for widespread use. ParcelPoint data is also linked to additional public record data that CoreLogic maintains which provides property attributes in 150 distinct categories. These provide data intelligence on everything from zoning and land use to details on roof type and number of bedrooms. CoreLogic is the only known parcel provider that employs the National Standard for Spatial Data Accuracy (NSSDA) to quantifiably assess the spatial accuracy of its data. "Access to a consistently accurate and up-to-date national parcel database is something that governments and businesses alike have been struggling with historically," said Steve Brewer, senior vice president for CoreLogic Insurance and Spatial Solutions. "As more and more data has become available from various sources, the need for a standardized and highly accurate, comprehensive database that covers the entire country has only increased." Parcel data, which is defined by latitude and longitude coordinates, is important to local, state and federal governments to inform and support property taxing activity and real estate development, including management of zoning, permitting and code enforcement. For industries such as oil and gas, telecommunications, utilities and insurance, access to relevant and accurate parcel data is a critical component of accurate risk assessment, pricing and decision making. "Maximizing practical use of data to automate workflow and make better decisions is becoming table stakes in every industry," said Brewer. "Utilizing the right data that is vetted, quality controlled, and standardized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness in practical application will lead to better business decisions and increased profitability." More information about CoreLogic parcel data can be found at http://www.corelogic.com/parcelpoint About CoreLogic CoreLogic is a leading global property information, analytics and data-enabled services provider. The markets CoreLogic serves include real estate and mortgage finance, insurance, capital markets, and the public sector. Walk Score Launches Crime Grade for Homes and Apartments
A high face tells you that you're close to the people and places you love. But is the neighborhood safe from crime? Today Walk Score announcing Crime Grade, the first measure of crime safety for a home or apartment that accurately measures your personal risk. Crime Grade is an A – D rating that tells you how likely you are to be affected by crime. Crime Grade is an A-D rating for an address. Why Does it Matter? Crime safety is a top concern for people looking for apartments and shopping for homes. What matters most is your per capita risk of being affected by crime. Other crime maps and statistics often make walkable neighborhoods with lots of people (e.g. Downtowns) seem unsafe because they only measure how many crimes are reported — not the per capita crime rate. The Walk Score Crime Grade is computed using a patent-pending system that aggregates crimes near an address and weights crimes by severity and distance. We calculate a per capita crime rate for an address based on the total population (residents and workers) in the area. Crime rates are then compared against city-wide rates and converted into a letter grade. We have a separate Crime Grade for personal crime (e.g. robbery or violent crime that affects a person) and property crime (e.g. burglary or theft that affects property). This allows you to accurately compare your crime risk between addresses in a city. For example, below are two maps of crime in Chicago. The map on the left shows reported crimes and makes Downtown Chicago appear quite dangerous. The Walk Score crime map on the right shows the Crime Grade (e.g. your per capita risk of being affected by crime) in this area. Although there are a lot of crimes reported in Downtown Chicago, there are so many people that your personal risk is still low. Available for Every Address in 16 Cities Crime Grades are available in the 16 cities listed below where police departments make their crime reports publicly available: Atlanta Austin Baltimore Chicago Denver Houston Los Angeles Louisville-Jefferson Oakland Philadelphia Portland Raleigh Sacramento San Francisco Seattle Washington D.C. Crime Grades are available today on all Walk Score apartment and rental listings in the cities above and will be rolling out to every address in these cities soon. If you want to get your Crime Grade right away, just tweet @walkscore with your address and we'll send you a link to your Crime Grade. We've been working on our Crime Grade methodology for over a year. We initially launched neighborhood crime comparisons in the summer of 2013. Please send us your feedback, we'd love to hear what you think. To view the original article, visit WalkScore.

INRIX Teams With RE/MAX To Help Buyers Find The Perfect Home
NEW YORK, Jan. 13, 2014 -- On the eve of the 2014 Real Estate Connect Conference, the leading traffic information and driver services provider INRIX and global real estate franchisor announced a collaboration that will make Remax.com the first national real estate brand website to give prospective homebuyers the ability to identify and compare home listings based on preferred commute times rather than distance to work. The new search tool called INRIX Drive Time™ provides consumers with an easy, visual means to find all homes for sale within a specific drive time between respective properties and their work address, schools or other important locations based on typical travel times at rush hour and throughout the day. "Buying a home is the single largest financial decision most of us will ever make and drive time is a quality-of-life issue to buyers. For many, it's as important as the neighborhood and good schools," said RE/MAX Technology Strategy Officer John Smiley, "INRIX is the perfect choice to provide drive time data since leading automakers, news media and governments already rely upon them for vital traffic information. We're taking the guesswork out of one of consumers most important purchase criteria – their commute." According to the National Association of REALTORS®, 73 percent of all homebuyers consider drive time to work a key purchase criterion. Additionally, the U.S. Census Bureau's 2013 American Community Survey found 88 percent of American commuters travel to work by car. More than 600,000 of those commuters face commutes of at least 50 miles from home taking at least 90 minutes each way. Remax.com will bring INRIX Drive Time to customers in all 50 states beginning with New Jersey in the first quarter of 2014. To determine drive times using this new feature, potential homebuyers simply enter the addresses of the locations most important to them as part of their search criteria. The tool automatically shows neighborhoods and properties that meet their desired travel time. "In a world measured in miles, we measure it in minutes," said INRIX General Manager of GeoAnalytics Kevin Foreman. "Using INRIX Drive Time , RE/MAX is able to help agents better serve clients with insight invaluable to consumers' pursuit of the perfect home." INRIX Drive Time is powered by traffic information sourced from the INRIX Traffic Intelligence Platform, which analyzes data from a variety of public and private sources ranging from government road sensors, official accident and incident reports to real-time traffic speeds crowd-sourced from a community of approximately 100 million drivers. INRIX analyzes of traffic speeds also factors in impacts common to the day of the week, season, local holidays, current and forecasted weather, accidents and road construction giving drivers insight that helps them save time, fuel and avoid frustration every day.1 INRIX real-time traffic information is refreshed every minute then archived into an historical database updated every 6 weeks ensuring RE/MAX always has the most current drive time information . INRIX real-time traffic information has been found accurate within 3 mph of actual traffic speeds under all driving conditions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trulia Releases New Map Visualizations to Inform Home Buyers Where Hurricanes, Wildfires, and Tornadoes Historically Strike
SAN FRANCISCO, August 15, 2013 –Trulia, Inc., a leading online marketplace for home buyers, sellers, renters, and real estate professionals, continues to provide users with the inside scoop by releasing three new interactive natural hazard maps pinpointing areas across the United States that are prone to hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes. Understanding the risk of natural disasters is an important consideration for home buyers across the country. In 2010, the federal government declared a record of 81 natural disasters occurred during the year, while in 2011 a new record was set for disaster declarations with twelve separate billion-dollar weather/climate disasters with the aggregate damage totaling approximately $52 billion. Then in 2012, the federal government declared on 99 separate occasions that a major disaster existed after a natural hazard had occurred. "Buying a house is one of the biggest financial decisions a consumer will ever make, but it's often hard for home shoppers to get information about the potential risks and impact of natural hazards like those we've had in recent years," said Lee Clancy, VP of Consumer Products. "When Hurricane Sandy hit, we knew we had to provide more information on natural hazards to our consumers. With these new maps, users will be able to visualize where their dream home is located relative to where natural hazards have hit. And best of all, Trulia provides this rich information to consumers for free, so make sure you check these natural hazard maps before you sign on the dotted line." Details of the New Trulia Natural Hazard Visualizations Map Hurricanes: Using data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) from 1950-2012, the map shows dark purple cells indicating accumulated wind energy over time. The hurricanes are displayed via tracks on the map, with the size of the track representing the power of the storm. Wildfire Risk: Based on the US Forest Service data from 2001-2010, the wildfire risk map shows recent fire perimeters and fire potentials. Red and orange denote higher risk of fire, while green represents less risk. Tornadoes: Also using data from NOAA, the tornado map layer displays the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which shows accumulated energy from tornadoes, along with tracks for each storm from 1950-2011. Similar to the hurricane map layer, the size of the track on the tornado map indicates the power of the windstorm. Trulia's visualizations are accessible on the web by visiting Trulia Local. Users simply select a city, then access a menu on the left-hand side to see details like properties, home values, crimes, schools, commute times, amenities and rental rates. The interactive maps also include the environmental risk of floods and earthquakes, which were launched in May – and now hurricanes, wildfires, and tornadoes. To find the metros that are least prone to natural disasters, Trulia used the data that powers its natural hazards maps and calculated the average risk within each metro area for each of the five major natural disasters featured on the layered heat maps. Top 10 U.S. Housing Markets at Lower-Risk of Natural Disasters # U.S. Metro Asking home price per SQFT 1 Syracuse, NY* $89 2 Cleveland, OH $80 3 Akron, OH $81 4 Buffalo, NY $93 5 Bethesda-Rockville-Frederick, MD $174 6 Dayton, OH $72 7 Allentown, PA-NJ $109 8 Chicago, IL $113 9 Denver, CO $129 10 Warren-Troy-Farmington Hills, MI $94 * The data on flood risk, which comes from the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), is incomplete for Syracuse and for several other metros not on the ten lower-risk list. Please visit Trulia Trends for more details about the study and the methodology behind this list. ABOUT TRULIA, INC.
