5 Steps to Clean Up Your Permissions

January 06 2012

I spotted a very interesting article on Mashable.com. The focus was on a new website that can help you determine which apps have access to your social media accounts – and, more importantly, helps you remove unwanted apps.

The process is simple.

1) Visit www.myPermissions.orgwww.myPermissions.org.

2) Choose a social media site. You can choose from any of these sites:

start cleaning company

3) Once you’ve chosen your site (I picked Facebook first), you’ll see a list of the apps that have access to your profile. I was totally shocked by my results. Check this out:

What is the “Intel® Museum of Me”? Honestly!

4) See any apps on the list that you don’t want all up in your grill? You can edit or delete them. Look at my shiny new list!

5) Next, you can choose a different social media site, if you want. It only took a few minutes for me to go through all of them.
