The success of companies like Starbucks, Zappos, and Disney in building inspiring and coveted company culture has opened the eyes of the real estate industry. More and more real estate companies are focusing on company culture to not only attract and recruit the right REALTORSĀ®, but to enhance the customer experience. I asked a few industry leaders how they are building and scaling culture at their companies, and here are their insightful tips.

She explained that "At West + Main, we hire for culture, not production. As a result, the right agents find us, and we love going to work every day because we honestly enjoy every agent that we work with!"

Over the last 20 years, I have learned that people are the most essential ingredient to a successful culture. Company culture is more about the enjoyment of others and the belief that we can make someone else's professional life easier. All that said, company culture starts from the leadership and the duty of the entire company to maintain a healthy environment for success."

Her company focuses on trust. "Our goal is to build a culture of trust. We want our agents to feel like our office is the safe place to ask questions, be creative, learn from each other and just enjoy being."

"Being open and leading with giving. Giving back to your agents, your community and in everything you do. We give back in so many ways at Unit Realty Group and it starts at the top. I love when one of my agents gives back without asking. I have an open phone policy and my agents know they can reach out to me anytime with any questions and not feel bad about doing it. They also know they have other outlets if I am not immediately available. By being open and leading with giving, everything else falls into place."

We offer after breakfast and after hours networking for agents and support them in any community/charity events they want to participate in."

If you don't have that, you don't have anything. People in the company have to know their presence matters. That starts with leadership creating that culture, but it is a responsibility of everyone within the company to uphold that standard and maintain that culture."
