Are You Using Google + In Your Real Estate Business?

The popular search engine “Google” recently released its own version of social media with Google +. It has a number of applications but many people aren’t aware of them, nor know how to leverage them for businesses purposes. The following is a brief explanation of some basic Google + applications and whether or not they are useful in completing more real estate transactions.

  • Circles- These are groups of friends organized by topic. Since this means that you can drag and drop contacts who are clients into your “client” circle and then share various images and videos with them, this application is certainly a plus for REALTORS®.
  • Sparks- When you create a “spark” page, images, videos, and other content related to your chosen topic of interest are provided to you. This could help you stay updated with real estate related news.
  • Hangouts- This is the Google + video chat room where you can connect live with contacts in your circles. This could prove useful for any REALTOR® because it allows you to quickly and easily create a collaborative environment in the form of video calls with clients.
  • Huddles- This provides a means for group messaging within a circle and is thus a quick way to communicate with several clients at once.
  • Instant upload- If you take a picture on your Android phone, it’s automatically uploaded to Google +. This is another very useful application for REALTORS® because it means that every photo you take of real estate can be viewed by your circle of clients.

In that Google + facilitates communication in a number of ways, this can certainly be a valuable tool for any REALTOR®. At the moment, it may not have as many users but this will change when everyone with a Google account is included in Google +.
