Last week, we discussed how to get deep insights on your new leads and business contacts, and how to bring up your intel in casual conversation without looking like a class-A creeper. With the right tools and confidence, it can be easy to breeze through a first meeting.
But what about when you meet someone in passing and can't remember their last name? Or their name is so common that you can't possibly find them online? Provided you got their contact information, you can try this quick hack to look them up on Facebook and connect with them online.
Rather than searching your contact's name and scrolling through the results, search their exact phone number or email address in the general search bar on Facebook. If your contact has entered the information into the site and didn't make it private, their name and account will show up in the results below.
Just yesterday, I searched my friend and Results Series co-host, Andrew Dorn, to make sure this trick was still in place!
Of course, this hack goes both ways. Don't you want to be easily located by friends, business contacts and that mom you met at the PTA last month? Be sure to check your privacy settings to ensure that your profile allows for this reverse search as well.
We'd love to feature you in a Results Series blog post! Tell us how you make meaningful contact with your new leads, acquaintances, business contacts and more and we may include you in a future post.
