10 Steps to Success with Your Company Mobile App

May 13 2016

sa 10 steps app success

We are always trying to come up with new ways to help brokers get the most out of their mobile app. To that end, below is a list of best practices to follow once you sign up for a real estate company app!

1. Schedule app training for yourself and your team within 30 days of signing the agreement. Your assigned account manager will carry out training whenever it is convenient for you.

2. Make sure all your agents have downloaded their app and are sharing it via email, text, social media and all other forms of advertising.

3. Debut the app with an email blast to your sphere of influence and then follow up with a call to confirm they have downloaded the app to their mobile devices. Include tips on how to use the app, e.g. explain saved properties, shared properties, how to share the app with family and friends, and how to contact the company/agent through the app.

4. Ask clients to refer you by sharing the app with friends and family who are looking to buy their next home or sell their existing one. Ask every new client you meet, whether they are a buyer or seller, to download your app when you first meet. It makes for a "wow" factor that you have your own app!

5. Add your URL and/or app code anywhere you advertise your phone number in digital, print, and social media—promote in your email signature, LinkedIn profile, open house flyers, newsletters, business cards, and flyers.

6. Post a prominent button/link on the homepage of your website asking visitors to download your app. You can use the buttons we provide or ask your web developer to design one. If you have Mobile Detect enabled, that's even better, as people will be prompted to go to your app right from your website.

7. Add it to the About section on your social media pages like Facebook and Twitter, and then periodically post about it with a link to your Mobile Engagement Page.

8. When meeting with sellers, let them know to share their newly listed home on their own Facebook and Twitter accounts right from the app once it is in the MLS feed.

9. Ask your sphere of influence to give a consumer review of your app in the App Store or Google Play, depending on the device they use. This will increases your app's ranking in the stores. The better you are ranked, the higher you will appear in the app store search.

10. Insert the app code into MLS listings in the Public Remarks Section and the unique URL—the link to the Mobile Engagement page—in the virtual tour section and/or website section of each listing.
