The Queue: A Look at RETechSouth, Bob Hale, and 4 New Technologies!

April 05 2011

I have been to a conference or 12 this year. I had a chance to attend RE Tech South in the Atlanta suburbs this past week and for lack of a better analogy I am dubbing it the Roy Jones Jr. of real estate conventions.

Pound for pound this was the best event of the year.

I filmed The Queue on location and got several great interviews with innovators who are moving the industry forward. To view via a mobile device click here

Bob Hale is the President and CEO of the Houston Association of Realtors. They are the first to embrace Realtor ratings and reviews and he gave me his insight into how it is going and how the agents feel about the process.

Brian Copeland is in my opinion one of the more innovative agents in the country and gave an amazing session at RETSO on doing video the right way. He gave us several practical tips for The Queue on doing video right.

LokBoks looks to be a major new player in the single property website space and was built for mobile which I of course love. They showed us some screenshots and also offered to sign anyone up who is interested for their unreleased Beta.

Maya Paveza is one of if not the most followed Realtors on Twitter and recently launched a new venture along with Chris Brogan called The Hip Roof. She spoke as to why it is important to have a forum that takes a for us by us approach.

Austin Allison is the CEO of DotLoop an online document and electronic signature company specific to the real estate vertical. He shared with me why the consumer process is better when e-docs are a part of the transaction.

Finally, I spoke with Derek Overby of Roost.com and he shared their just released social media dashboard. I have to say I was uber impressed and they have definitely built this new option with Realtors in mind. Not only does it function as the hub of your social media efforts it also pulls in relevant information for you to share.

Big thanks to Brad Nix for putting on such a great event which I hope to attend for years to come.
