QR codes are readable by almost all smartphones and, with a simple scan, can drive a mobile phone user to any type of content—a website, someone's contact information, or even a simple message.

I am hesitant to jump into QR codes as they work with a very limited number of cell phones.

You are 100% correct William - but the cool factor is outstanding. According to research done by the California Association of REALTORS, having a Tech Savvy agent is a key criteria in selecting an agent. To some degree, a QR code is less about what it does, and more about what is says about you. And they are free.

Tech savy is good but if your site isn't set up for smart phone browsing who knows what will come across the users phone and you may look pretty dumb.

We can look cool all we want, but unless we educate the general public this is useless. Educate first. Then use.
