The real estate industry is ever changing.  For better or for worse Google just made a big annoucement that could make a difference to real estate professionals.  Tech Savvy Agent reports below:

This just in. Google has announced that they will be removing all listings from their Google Maps platform on February 10th of this year! We have written in the past about gaining exposure via Google Maps and also about the fact that they include foreclosure data in their system.

Chris, what do you think is driving them to remove information? Doesn't sound like Google to me.

I spoke to Sam Sebastian from google. They are still going to get the data, but not through upload - they will get it by crawling sites that allow indexing. In 2009, NAR's MLS policy committee changed the IDX rules and regulations allowing for data to be indexed. As such, Google can acquire the data through their normal means and no longer need Google Base to "receive" the data.
