Searching for a home is serious business. There are a lot of homes you need to sift through and compare before deciding on which one is the right fit for you.
In fact, According to the National Association of REALTORS® 2011 Survey of Homebuyers and Sellers, the average consumer looked at 12 homes before deciding on the one they ultimately purchased.
And that's why we've integrated Pinterest into our listing detail pages on REALTOR.com®.
Pinterest is a social tool that allows users to "pin" photos to a virtual pin board and share those photos with others – and it's used by over 4 million people every day.
And on REALTOR.com®, what this means is that consumers can pin photos of EVERY home they like onto a virtual pin board so they can compare them side-by-side.
We've added "pin it" buttons to three locations on the listing detail pages on our site:
The "share" bar:

The photo gallery:

The photos tab:

Users will be able to "save" photos of their favorites homes, and then share their gallery with friends and family – and their REALTOR®.
But the integration with Pinterest wasn't done just to add a new "social widget" to our site – the images that get pinned onto Pinterest also link back to the associated property listing detail page.
What this means is that viewers won't just see photos of properties – they'll actually get to easily access all the property details right from their Pinterest pin board. And for REALTORS®, this integration can help they be totally in sync with exactly the types of homes their clients are looking for.
Browse, pin and share.
It's fast, it's easy, and it'll help the millions of consumers using REALTOR.com® every month organize their home search a little bit more effectively.
