Last year, almost 90% of consumers used the Internet as part of their home search. On average, these consumers looked at 12 homes over a span of 12 weeks before deciding on their purchase. And 40% of these consumers actually PURCHASED a home they found online – a staggering increase from the 8% of consumers who found the home they ultimately purchased online just 10 years ago.1
Looking at these numbers, it's quite clear that a strong Internet presence for listings is imperative in this day and age. And when it comes to a strong online presence for listings, photos are where the rubber meets the road.
In fact, 98% of online consumers rated photos of a home as one the most important features a real estate website could provide.1
And now, listings on REALTOR.com® will give brokers and agents the ability to add 44% more of them.
The maximum number of allowable photos for listings on REALTOR.com® has increased from 25 to 36, and brokers and agents will have a variety of ways they can add more photos:
- REALTOR.com® will accept the increased amount of photos from direct MLS feeds
- Showcase Enhancement Customers can add and customize their additional photos by logging into the REALTOR.com® Control Panel
- Company Showcase subscribers will be able to include their additional photos as part of their Company Showcase data feed
When it comes to marketing a listing, a picture really is a worth a 1000 words, and this great new upgrade will help brokers and agents tell an even more compelling story about the homes that they list.
