Great article, and Discover MLS 'gets it' Victor. That is why every one of our users gets access to an industry-leading, HTML5-based system designed from the ground up for today's smartphones & tablets.

Thanks for the comment Warren. Your MLS system's support for mobile may be the brightest star of its kind today, but you are not alone. I think all of the legacy systems are moving in that direction.

It seems like there is still some debate between supporting the mobile browser vs. developing apps. I vote for both.

An interesting statement: "Their software faces professionals and consumers with dignity." What's this dignity stuff? Aren't we supposed to make members grovel and write their passwords in blood and thankfully accept fines and reprimands? Humble them? Humiliate them? Are you implying our customers may desert their MLSs if professionalism and dignity comes along from some other data provider? (if you can be sarcastic, Victor, so can I....)

My point about dignity is that the professional and the consumer should both be treated with more respect on mobile platforms. I agree with you that the agents have earned more respect than MLSs are giving them with today's professional mobile MLS solutions.

It is important to note that I am speaking here in the broadest terms. There are some MLSs with adequate mobile solutions - but there are plenty more that do not have a mobile solution at all, or a crappy one. That is where MLSs need to raise the bar in Real Estate. Professionals need mobile tools yesterday.
