At conferences and meetings lately we’ve been hearing a lot of talk about social media content. What should your Facebook postings be about, and what types of links, comments and information will make you stand out from the competition? In previous posts we’ve recommended that becoming an expert on your local area is the ideal way to approach your blog. Your knowledge of schools, community services, pediatricians, developments, etc. is way more important to prospects than your predictions about interest rates, technological trends and so on. So, that should set the tone for your blog content plan. It also works for your Facebook and Twitter plan.
Lately we’ve been encouraging real estate agents to build business Facebook pages in addition to their personal ones. For ReachFactor customers, this allows your reviews to populate on your page automatically, but in a larger sense it establishes your business as a separate entity and limits the personal nature of your social media marketing. Of course it’s okay for prospects and clients to see photos of you on vacation, but a Facebook business page allows you to streamline your online reputation building by focusing on your professional skills and experience. So, what do you post on it?
