We're so excited about our new contributor, Marki Lemons. In this article, she illuminates a subject that's getting a lot of buzz at the moment: Pinterest. Take it away, Marki!
REALTORS®, it's not too late to leave a Pin on Pinterest. Pinterest is the fastest growing website in the market today and it is by invitation only. Pinterest is a vision board, social media sharing website and app, where REALTORS® can create and manage theme or topic based image collections. Long story short, it is a virtual pin board where you can create category specific groups called "Boards". The visually stimulating website allows you to stir interest in your listings and drive traffic to your website or blog.
On Pinterest, agents can set up boards using their city name, business type, product, or service. I live in Chicago; so I have boards set up specifically for Chicago and on each board I pin items that can be combined in one category like Chicago Great Bar-B-Que. It is easy to "Pin" a photo or video to a "Board" from any image on the internet. Firefox has a "Pin It" bookmark that allows you to simply click on the image and it is posted to your board or you can upload a photo from your computer or mobile device using the Pinterest App. Photos and videos can be "Repinned" just as one would Retweet a Tweet on Twitter.
