1. Title Tag – buried in the code of your webpage is what are known as Meta Tags. Meta tags describe your website to search engines. Probably the most important Meta tag is the Title Tag. Search engines use the content of this tag to determine what your webpage is about. The Title tag is also used as the clickable link in search engine results. Title Tags should be less than 60 characters, start with keyword(s), contain your company name, and end with a secondary keyword phrase.
Checking your Title Tag is easy – just look yourself up in Google. Most likely the first line of your entry is the Title Tag. Does it convey your marketing message? If not, the Title Tag needs updating.
